Technical Descriptions :
Bearing Bars: a collection of parallel bars which have usually rectangular section are called bearing bars. The main task of these parts is bearing the loading force. And they are at least on appropriate supports at 2 ends.
Cross Bars: the main task of cross bars is to connect bearing bars to each other, keep uniformity & prevent from buckling. Cross bars are not considered to bear loading force.
Banding Bars: bars which are placed at the grating ends & edge are called banding bars. Banding bars are the same height as bearing bars.
Pitch: the bearing bar pitch is the distance between one cross bar center to the next one.
Mesh: the distance between two bearing bars or between two cross bars, is called mesh.
Length of grating: length of grating is the external measure of grating in the direction of bearing bars.
Width of grating: width of grating is the external measure of grating in the direction of cross bars.
Span: span is the internal distance between supports. The most important factor in grating design is the measure & direction of span or bearing bar.
Support: a part of structure on which bearing bars are usually placed, is defined as support.
Serrated bars: they are used in particular places to prevent from slipperiness.
