Electroforged Grating

In this method, automatic electromechanical machines are used for connecting bearing bars & cross bars in one grating grid. Preparing high electrical current & mechanical pressure at the same time, the electroforge welding equipment causes bearing bars & twisted bars to reach to the melting temperature at connection points & merge together so that an integral connection is eventually prepared. After producing the grating panels by electroforge welding equipment, the final product is manufactured as the following procedure

Electroforged grating could be produced in different pitch sizes. In Arak Rail Company, gratings are produced in standard bearing bar pitches (15, 30, 35, 41 mm) & standard cross bar pitches 50, 76, 100 mm

The combination of these pitch sizes provides various types of gratings

Electroforge method advantages

As all of production steps in manual method are done by human, appearing human errors are unavoidable. These errors decrease the quality of final product. On the other hand, since in the manual method, CO2 welding is used, even in the best welding conditions, unwanted welding failures (like porous, crack & also spatters on work piece) occur  that prevent sufficient coating. In addition corrosion starts fast at these places whereas in the electroforge welding, such failures don’t occur. Therefore a perfect galvanization is done

In electroforged grating, creating notches on bearing bars for placing cross bars is not necessary. In manual method these notches cause the bar strength to decrease, so using thicker & wider bars is essential. It rises the weight of grating & whole structure as well

Having less weight & more strength (up to 20%), Electroforged grating is nowadays known as the most economical grating production method all over the world. Some of main features of this product comparing to manual method are lower weight, accordance to international standards, automatic production, better look, homogeneity & similarity of all grids & finally lower cost
